Free Narcan training in Lower Burrell
Lower Burrell will offer a free Narcan training and education to the public at 6 p.m., April 9, at city hall.
The Westmoreland County Drug Task Force will present an opioid addiction education forum, including training on how to administer naloxone, also known as Narcan, which reverses the effect of opioids during an overdose.
“A key way to curb the opioid epidemic is through training and education,” said Lower Burrell Mayor Rich Callender. “We are proud to present both of these events,” he said.
Lower Burrell Councilman Robert Hamilton said the city recognizes the opioid epidemic across the county and the lives lost in Lower Burrell.
“We think it is our responsibility to make sure citizens have access to training and distribution to naloxone to help save loved ones,” he said.
Lower Burrell City Hall is located at 115 Schreiber St.
