A fundraiser for a 22-year old Washington Township man killed in a wrong-way crash is planned for this weekend in Oklahoma Borough.
Zeth Charles Reber died on Nov. 14 when his car was hit by a minivan traveling the wrong direction on State Route 380 in Washington Township. The driver of the minivan was Abigail Jones, 23, of Carlisle.
The crash is still under investigation and charges against Jones are pending.
The Oklahoma Inn will host a benefit fundraiser in honor of Reber on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. All funds will be donated to the Reber family.
Co-organizers Chelsea Goldstrom and Devin Wallace, both friends of Reber, said the event will include a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, food and beverages, car stickers, bracelets and a donation bucket. All ages are welcome.
Reber is the son of Christine A. Beveridge Reber and Robert Reber.
He was studying welding at Northern Westmoreland Career and Technical Center while employed as a welder at Iron Workers Union Local #3. As described in his obituary, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and considered his 2014 Honda Civic Si his pride and joy.
Organizers said the winning raffle numbers will be chosen at 5 p.m. and attendees don’t have to be present to win.
