A father and son devoted to one another in life will be mourned together this week as Plum residents grapple with the loss from a devastating house explosion nine days ago.

Funeral arrangements have been released for Keegan William Clontz, 12, and for his father, Casey Thomas Clontz, 38. They were among six people killed in an as-yet-unexplained Aug. 12 explosion that destroyed or damaged several homes in Plum’s Rustic Ridge neighborhood.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Burket-Truby Funeral Home, 421 Allegheny Ave, Oakmont.

Funeral services for both will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, 444 St. John St., Plum, with Deacon Herb Riley officiating.

While the family appreciates the outreach from the community and well wishes from across the country, they request that funeral attendees be limited to those who were directly touched by Keegan’s life.

A family-only burial for Casey and Keegan will follow with an invite-only luncheon proceeding the burial.

According to the obituary, the family strongly suggests in lieu of sending flowers to the funeral home to donate via GoFundMe or Venmo directly to Jennifer Clontz.

The family and loved ones of Casey and Keegan extend their sincere thanks for the overwhelming and beautiful outpouring of support.
