Chloe Kruse, 32, of Vandergrift owns and operates The Center, in the former Trinity United Presbyterian Church at 262 Franklin Ave.

A new children’s vendor show is coming to Vandergrift.

The inaugural Kids Vendor Show, sponsored by The Center on Franklin Avenue, is scheduled for July 10 at the Center, 262 Franklin Ave.

The event will showcase vendors and activities for, by and in support of children.

Center founder and owner Chloe Kruse said everything about the event will have a family-friendly theme, and she’s seeking pint-sized participants.

“This event was inspired by my eldest daughter, Violet, who loves making things, and she wanted to sell them,” Kruse said.

Violet plans to sell her original artwork and custom decorated magic wands at the show.

“She’s an awesome artist and wanted to learn how to market her creations,” Kruse said.

Kruse said the goal is for children to embrace their inner entrepreneur and sell kid-friendly crafts.

Vendors will occupy indoor and outdoor spaces, and Kruse said entertainment details such as food trucks, music and activities are being planned.

Kid vendor spaces are being sold for $20 each, and adult vendor spaces are $40.

Adult vendors must sell kid or family-themed merchandise.

Kruse said a percentage of the proceeds will benefit Children’s Cancer Research.

“This is where your young artist or entrepreneur can have their own vendor space,” Kruse said.

The Center on Franklin Avenue was created after Kruse bought the former Trinity United Presbyterian Church in 2019.

It is a youth multipurpose space for indoor play, education, parties and events.

Amenities include a music room, art room, outdoor classroom, a seasonal children’s garden, yoga studio and more.

Vandergrift Mayor Barbara Turiak said she’s pleased to see a new event for youngsters in the borough this summer.

“Chloe’s always trying to get kids together. I was a school teacher for 35 years, and I love the fact this event will get kids out of the house and together,” Turiak said.
