State police: Drunken Leechburg woman hit man with car in Vandergrift
State police say an intoxicated Leechburg woman hit a man with her car in Vandergrift last Monday.
State police responded to a call at a Leechburg address where it was reported that a man was hit by a car, reportedly driven by a woman who was threatening to “slit her own throat,” according to a state police press release.
When police arrived, they learned that the woman, Tammy McKendree, 41, had not harmed herself but had messaged the male victim about threatening that she had.
They also learned that the man was actually hit by the car in Vandergrift. Police visited the man’s home to assess his condition. Police didn’t provide details.
Police said McKendree was violent, intoxicated, and resisted arrest.
McKendree is charged with aggravated assault, driving under the influence and other crimes.
She had her preliminary arraignment Monday before District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. She posted bail, which was set at $25,000 unsecured, with a condition of house arrest.
