Fox Chapel has launched a new online portal for residents to submit concerns or requests 24/7 directly to borough officials for service in the community.

Borough manager Gary Koehler said the Community Concern Portal launched last month on the borough website was created to help residents communicate with borough officials.

The portal features six categories for residents to submit concerns: animal, code violations, disposal services, downed tree and wires, public works and utilities.

Koehler said recent posts have included concerns over potholes and tree branches projecting into roads and interfering with vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Newly added links include a zoning map tab and road maintenance information showing residents which roads are maintained by the borough, county or state.

Koehler said the borough receives about one concern post per week, and the new portal option has been well received by residents.

“The users seemed pleased to have their concerns addressed or to be able to contact the correct entity,” Koehler said. “It allows a resident to report a concern any time without calling by phone.”

The portal is for nonemergency issues, and residents are reminded to call 911 for emergencies.

Users can upload a photo with each submission, and reports will be directed to the appropriate borough staff member.

All submissions will be addressed during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Reports received over the weekends, holidays or after hours will be addressed the next business day.

The portal can be accessed by clicking on the resident concern tab located on the left side of the screen on the borough’s website, fox-chapel.pa.us.
