A man who was found walking outside without shoes Monday in New Kensington was accused by police of assaulting a nurse at AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital after he was brought there to be checked out.

Raimiynd Hezekia Glover, 21, of the 600 block of George Street in New Kensington was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault along with counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Glover was released from custody on a nonmonetary bond during his arraignment before Munhall District Judge Patrick D. Campbell, according to court records. He faces a Jan. 4 preliminary hearing before Campbell.

A Highmark Health police officer wrote in a criminal complaint that New Kensington police found Glover wandering the streets without any shoes Monday and brought him to the hospital in Harrison to be examined.

When a registered nurse tried to ask Glover about his medical condition, he refused to answer and “became angry and uncooperative,” the complaint said.

Glover then punched the nurse in the chest, causing her to fall backward in her chair onto the floor, according to police.

An employee intervened to help the nurse and summoned police and hospital security personnel to the emergency room, the complaint said.

Police said Glover struggled with responding officers and tried to flee the hospital until they were able to place him in handcuffs and take him into custody.
