No one was injured in a two-car crash Thursday morning in Harmar that left a car’s rear end propped on the side of another car and its front end smashed against a utility pole.
The crash happened at Hite and Russellton roads around 8 a.m., Harmar police Chief Jason Domaratz said.
A car driven by Mary Zetz, 93, of West Deer sideswiped a car driven by Richard Smail, 40, of Ford City as it turned left onto Russellton, Domaratz said. Zetz’s car then struck a utility pole.
There was significant damage to the utility pole, Domaratz said. A temporary one was being placed at the intersection until more permanent repairs can be made, the chief said.
“From the electric company, it sounds like it’s going to be a very long process,” Domaratz said.
A spokesperson from West Penn Power, which provides electrical service in the township, did not immediately return a call.
Its website did not list any outages in the township as of 3:30 p.m.
