Oakmont councilwoman resigns, replacement sought

Oakmont officials are looking to fill a vacant council seat after the recent resignation of councilwoman Tracey Holst.
Holst, a Democrat, submitted her resignation letter Dec. 31.
“We recently moved from Oakmont to Penn Hills, which was the reason for my resignation,” Holst said.
Holst was elected to council in 2021, served two years, and most recently, was council vice president for the last six months. Her council term ends Dec. 31, 2025.
The borough is accepting applications from qualified residents through Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Interested applicants must be 18 or older, a registered voter and have resided in Oakmont for at least one year.
Current council members are Nancy Ride, Jennifer Paris, John Arnold, Jamie Leonardi, Deborah Ormay, and Amanda Pagnotta.
Council positions are four-year terms and are unpaid.
As of Jan. 4, no applications had been submitted, according to borough officials.
The next council meeting is at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16.
