Oakmont now has more beverage options.
Rev22 Juice and Wellness Bar plans to celebrate its grand opening in the borough Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., when all will be welcome to sample its juices, smoothies and coffee drinks at the former Oakmont Bakery site.
The juice bar is next to Amazing Yoga, which opened in 2016 but moved into Oakmont Bakery’s former site, at 527 Allegheny Ave., in July. The juice counterpart has been open to the public since Sept. 13.
“We noticed there was something lacking that brings healthy food and juices to the community,” said Sarah Hummel, owner of the yoga facility and the juice bar. Hummel is an Oakmont resident.
She said the idea to open Rev22 sprouted after talking to yoga clients and others in the community.
Rev22 has 14 juices, nine smoothies, seven coffee drinks and five teas and herbal drinks that can be served hot or cold.
Some of the flavors include mixtures of spinach and kale, beet, carrot, apple, ginger and lemon, pomegranate, chia seed, orange and several others.
The juice bar also carries ingredients that are thrown into eight fruit-based “bowl” dishes and 12 one- or two-ounce shots of ultra-healthy ingredients like spirulina or wheatgrass.
Prices range from $2.50 for a shot to $9.75 for a bowl.
The Rev22 franchise, known currently as Salud Juicery and Wellness Bar, is operated by Hummel.
The Oakmont franchise joins other Rev22 locations in Aspinwall, Sewickley, State College and Pittsburgh’s Shadyside and Oakland neighborhoods.
Hummel said she hopes the “ghosts of success” from the former bakery’s location will help the yoga studio and juice bar.
“Everyone here has been extremely supportive and excited, as are we,” Hummel said.
The healthy beverage joint will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
