Oakmont police are investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins.
Chief Michael Ford said a group of young men reportedly entered at least eight unlocked vehicles on multiple blocks between Fifth and Thirteenth streets sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Victims reported cash and other items being stolen. No forcible entry to any of the vehicles was reported.
Ford said police have very little suspect information to go on. He encouraged people to call 911 if they see any suspicious activity.
He also reminded residents to put away valuables and lock their vehicles.
An alert about the incidents was posted on the department’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information or possible video of the vehicle break-ins should contact Oakmont police at 412-826-1578.
