Officials: Man found dead near Fox Chapel murder suspect's home died of gunshot to head
A Verona man whose body was found last week in a wooded area in Fox Chapel died of a gunshot to the head, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of Christian Moore-Rouse, 22, a homicide.
Moore-Rouse had been missing since December. His mother reported him missing.
Police said he had last been seen at the Dollar Tree store on Rodi Road in Penn Hills on Dec. 21.
Moore-Rouse’s remains were found unburied in a wooded lot near Adam Rosenberg’s house along Settlers Ridge Road on March 3.
Rosenberg, 21, faces homicide charges in connection with the death of Jeremy Dentel, 28, of Baldwin.
Police said Dentel was found dead in his Baldwin home Feb. 16 with a gunshot to the head.
Police had not filed charges in connection to Moore-Rouse’s death as of Wednesday afternoon.
“No charges have been filed. As has been previously stated, (Moore-Rouse and Rosenberg) are acquaintances,” Allegheny County Lt. Venerando Costa said on Wednesday.
Moore-Rouse graduated from Pittsburgh Allderdice High School in 2016, according to Pittsburgh Public Schools spokeswoman Ebony Pugh.
He enrolled at the Community College of Allegheny County in the fall of 2015 and remained there through the spring 2018 semester, majoring in general studies, CCAC spokeswoman Elizabeth Johnston said.
