A screenshot of Periwinkle’s Bakery & Cafe website states that the business is permanently closed.

An O’Hara bakery open for less than two years apparently has closed for good.

Hanna Commercial Real Estate is advertising Periwinkle’s Bakery & Cafe, located at 900 Gamma Drive in the RIDC Industrial Park off Route 28, for rent as a “turnkey” restaurant that is ready for immediate operation.

The leasing price is not listed online.

Periwinkle’s opened in 2021 in a building that housed a former Max & Erma’s restaurant.

But after ownership struggled with staffing issues, it announced the bakery/cafe was temporarily closing in late 2022.

The shop never reopened. Periwinkle’s Facebook page has since been deleted, and its phone number is no longer in service.

Traffic cones and chains block all entrances to the parking lot.

Periwinkle’s owner, Kelly DiNatale, did not respond to a request for comment.

A real estate sign is posted on the grounds of Periwinkle’s Bakery & Cafe at the RIDC Industrial Park in O’Hara.

The space offers 8,000 square feet of space and 149 parking spaces on 2.8 acres.

According to the listing, the lease includes a fully equipped kitchen and all fixtures inside the restaurant.

Leasing agent Kevin Langholz did not immediately return a request for comment.

Customers with unused gift cards are advised to mail them to Thomas J. Friel, Perwinkle’s Bakery & Cafe, 900 Gamma Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.

The original gift card must be included. No photocopies or pictures will be accepted.
