An Aspinwall eatery is offering free home delivery of downsized Thanksgiving turkey meals this year, in response to recent covid-19 restrictions.

Cornerstone Restaurant owner Erin Connolly said her regular Tuesday meal deliveries have been “through the roof,” with more people opting to remain at home this holiday season.

She made the business decision to offer modified dining options for her customers this Thanksgiving season, noting that orders for the usual larger turkey meals were not in demand this year.

Cornerstone opened in 2009 and traditionally offers takeout turkey meals each November.

“My weekly deliveries are up 50% to 70%,” Connolly said. “There’s a huge need. We have a lot of seniors in the area deciding not to travel or visit during the holidays. We knew that people were not going to gather this year like normal.”

Orders are due by 10 a.m. Monday.

Cornerstone’s Thanksgiving “Meal For One” includes roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, leek bread stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce for $22.

Meals will be delivered cooked and ready for reheating.

All food items will be delivered between noon and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Customers who are unable to be home during delivery have the option of placing a cooler at their front door and food items will be placed there.

Add a slice of homemade pumpkin or salted caramel apple pie for $8.

Connolly said she has three delivery drivers ready to handle the anticipated uptick in meal deliveries.

Delivery is available in these areas: Fox Chapel, Blawnox, Sharpsburg, Squirrel Hill, Oakmont, Harmar, Oakland, Shadyside, Point Breeze and Aspinwall.
