Plum woman returns to Arnold roots, turns ice cream stand into new cafe

April Barnes of Plum stands outside her new business, Novo Cafe, on Freeport Road in Arnold. Her renovation of the former walk-up ice cream stand included adding a front door and creating a seating area inside.

Wanda’s Dogs, featured in the Amazon Studios series “Sprung,” was a redress of Della’s Frozen Custard on Freeport Road in Arnold. The former walk-up ice cream stand now is home to April Barnes’ new business, Novo Cafe.

April Barnes of Plum wanted to create a comfortable, fun and cheery atmosphere for Novo Cafe, her new business located in a former walk-up ice cream stand on Freeport Road in Arnold.
