Storm downs trees, power lines in part of Alle-Kiski Valley

A fast moving thunderstorm rolling through part of the Alle-Kiski Valley at about 2 p.m. Saturday knocked down trees and power lines causing outages to about 250 electric customers, according to 911 dispatch reports.

According to West Penn Power, most of the outages were reported in Washington Township with 203 utility customers reported without service about 2:30 p.m. Another 23 customers were reported without service in Export.

The utility’s on-line website estimated that power would be back on by 5:30 p.m.

Several trees were reported downed in the Bell Township area. Trees were reported down in the Carnahan Road, Weister Lane, and Muffley Hollow areas of the township, according to county dispatch reports.

No injuries were reported.
