Union: Strike averted at Lower Burrell nursing home, 17 others; workers still set to walk out at 18 facilities

The union representing workers at Belair Healthcare in Lower Burrell announced on Tuesday that a planned Sept. 2 strike has been averted after a tentative agreement with the owners was reached. The pact covers workers at 17 other facilities the company owns across the state.
