Residents of Vandergrift will have to find new ways to beat the heat for the time being.

Vandergrift’s Joseph A. Petrarca Pool is closed, at least temporarily, due to a pool employee possibly being exposed to covid-19.

“To be clear, this is not a confirmed case but rather a possible exposure,” said Vandergrift Borough Secretary Stephen DelleDonne in a letter posted on the Vandergrift Pool Facebook page. “The safety of our staff and patrons is always of our utmost concern.”

DelleDonne said the borough will try to reopen the pool and resume all swimming lessons once testing results are known.

Meanwhile, all reservations for Saturday, July 11 will be refunded within two to three business days, according to DelleDonne.
