Short-term lane restrictions will be in place next week for PennDOT bridge preservation projects in Penn and Oklahoma boroughs.

Nighttime single-lane restrictions are slated between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday and Tuesday on Route 66 (First Street and Oklahoma-Apollo Bridge), between Sheridan Road and Kiski Avenue in Oklahoma.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane during daylight hours, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., on April 13 and 14 on a section of 20th Street in Penn, between Locust Street/Burrell Hill Road and Coal Street/Penn Avenue.

Flaggers will control traffic at both locations.

Crews from Mekis Construction will be placing an epoxy overlay and replacing seals on the decks of the Oklahoma-Apollo Bridge and a bridge that carries 20th Street over Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks.

The work is part of a $2 million project that includes placement of surface treatments and minor repairs on 16 routes and 22 bridges in Westmoreland County. The project is slated for completion in October.
