Here are some of the upcoming offerings at the Shaler North Hills Library.

Virtual Storytimes for Kids are 10 a.m. Thursdays.

Virtual Programs for Adults (and families) are 5 or 7 p.m. Tuesdays (check for times).

Visit five historic sites in the area. Virtual kits to download are here. These virtual kits have links to information, activities, crafts and more for the sites.

  • PA Trolley Museum, Washington, Pa. Admission pass and advanced online ticketing are required. You may request a pass from the library, which will provide free admission for up to four people.
  • Lincoln Highway Experience, Latrobe, Pa. Admission pass required. Up to four passes are available per family at the library.
  • Air Heritage Museum, Beaver Falls, Pa. No admission pass required.
  • McKeesport Heritage Center, McKeesport, Pa. No pass required.
  • Heinz History Center, Pittsburgh, Pa. Purchase tickets through the online timed ticketing service. Passes may become available at a later time.

Nationality Rooms virtual visit

Join tour coordinator Michael P. Walter for a ‘virtual visit’ of the Nationality Rooms of the University of Pittsburgh. He will share some of the rooms’ histories, special artifacts and more.

The program is free and will be offered through Zoom with a limit of 25 attendees.

Register for one session, either at 1 p.m. Sept. 11 or 7 p.m. Sept. 24.

Doors are open for book/DVD needs and computer use: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
