Walkway along Highland Park Bridge closing during repairs

Pedestrians will not be able to use the Highland Park Bridge for the next several days while crews make repairs to the sidewalk and barriers, PennDOT announced.
Work on the walkway, which runs along one side of the bridge to provide pedestrian access from Butler Street in Pittsburgh to Freeport Road in O’Hara Township, began on Tuesday and is scheduled to last until Monday, Jan. 17, according to the transportation agency.
The project will not impact vehicle traffic using the bridge.
The work is part of a $55 project that aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety along the Route 28 expressway.
