2 arrested in North Huntingdon drug sting operation
Two men are facing charges after police said they were planning to sell drugs to an undercover officer in North Huntingdon, according to court papers.
Austin E.M. Moore, 30, of McKeesport, is charged with drug offenses and was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $200,000 bail. Deandre L. Thomas, 32, of Pittsburgh, is charged with criminal use of a community facility and drug offenses. He had not been arraigned.
The undercover officer worked with the state Attorney General’s Office and North Huntingdon police to contact Thomas and set up a drug sale, according to court papers. The officer picked up Moore and Thomas in Pittsburgh and drove to North Huntingdon where they were pulled over by township police.
Authorities said they seized six bricks of heroin/fentanyl, a cellphone and $220 from Thomas. Moore had 97 stamp bags of heroin/fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, a cellphone and $90, according to court papers.
Neither man had an attorney listed in online court records. Moore’s preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 23.
