2 jailed in Monessen child endangerment case
Two Monessen residents were jailed this week after city police said their two children were found living in deplorable conditions, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.
Jerimiah E. Roberts, 30, and Felicia Renee Dugan, 29, both are charged with child endangerment.
Monessen police responded to the Park Manor community Monday for a welfare check on the children who were found in an upstairs bedroom. Officers reported in court papers that the children were sleeping on a bed surrounded by feces and food stuck to the floor in a room with flies and fleas. The children had bite marks on their bodies and faces, authorities said.
Roberts and Dugan were being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $10,000 bail each. Neither suspect had an attorney listed in online court records. Preliminary hearings are set for June 21.
