Two Jeannette men were arrested by city police on multiple criminal charges after, police say, they got into two altercations Monday with residents on the 400 block of Guy Street.
Caleb N. Hall and Jaiden Crosby-Anderson, both 18, were arrested on multiple counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct and single counts of public drunkenness, criminal mischief, defiant trespass, flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest.
Hall also is charged with making terroristic threats and Crosby-Anderson with illegal possession of a controlled substance after officers say he was in possession of a painkiller.
Police said officers first were called to 442 Guy St. for a disturbance involving two men attempting to forcibly enter a house around 5:30 p.m. Police said a window was shattered during the initial disturbance.
When police arrived, the men, who were later determined to be Hall and Crosby-Anderson, had left, but witnesses said Hall had been staying at the residence “on and off” for the last month. Police said witnesses reported Hall had gotten into an argument with a resident there earlier that turned physical.
Police reported in court documents that one witness told investigators Hall warned occupants “he was going to get a gun and return to shoot up the house.”
Four hours later, police were dispatched to the area again for a report of “10 to 12 people fighting in the yard.”
Officer Zachary Burger reported, when police arrived, neighbors had Hall detained on the ground while Crosby-Anderson continued to resist being detained. He was subsequently taken into custody and handcuffed by police.
Both men were arraigned Tuesday. Court dockets show both men were released from custody Wednesday after posting $15,000 bond each.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for March 11.
