A Jeannette woman told city police an acquaintance broke into her apartment Thursday and began texting her more than 30 photographs of items from inside her home.

Steve G. Pierce Jr., 32, of Swissvale, was arrested on charges of burglary, harassment, receiving stolen property, stalking and theft by city police. He was ordered held in the county prison after failing to post $100,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Mansour.

Patrolman Bryan DeFelice said the woman told police she was at work when she began receiving photographs via text from Pierce “of specific items in her residence.”

DeFelice said the woman told police that she “freaked out” after receiving photos from inside her home when she was not there. DeFelice said the woman also reported that, when she arrived home, she found “23 photographs around the house, which displayed the two together, and six photographs of just Mr. Pierce.”

“That’s when I got scared,” the woman told DeFelice.

The woman also told police that many of the items Pierce photographed — including pieces of mail, boots, shoes, a box of makeup and recent purchases from Rite Aid — were missing.

Police located Pierce’s vehicle parked about a block away behind an apartment building and all of the items were discovered there.
