A 53-year-old Harrison City man was arrested on multiple stalking and harassment charges after police said he entered a woman’s home and texted her photographs of her bedroom and a day later smeared dog feces on a friend’s car, according to court documents.

Lawrence W. Lauer III was arraigned Monday before District Judge Helen Kistler on two counts each of stalking and harassment, and single counts of criminal mischief and driving on a suspended license filed by Penn Township police.

Officer Blake Danowski said in court documents the incidents occurred Saturday and Sunday.

The woman told police that on Saturday, Lauersent her a text message photograph of her bed and nightstand inside her home. She said Lauer does not have a key to the house, where she lives alone.

The woman told police she knows Lauer.

On Sunday, the woman and a male visitor saw Lauer sitting outside the house in a pickup truck around 5 p.m. and he “texted (the victim) the pictures” again, but left before police arrived. The pair later found dog feces had been smeared on the windshield of the friend’s car.

Lauer denies any wrongdoing.

“I was invited into the home by her to change a battery in a smoke detector,” Lauer said in a telephone interview.

Lauer said he intends to fight the complaints in court.

Danowski said Lauer’s driver’s license is under suspension for driving under the influence.

Lauer was released on $10,000 unsecured bond pending a preliminary hearing Aug. 6.
