A Jeannette woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly assaulted a boy under 12 years old during an argument over a cellphone, city police said.

Nicole L. Gogolsky, 39, was charged with simple assault, false imprisonment, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass. She was arraigned before District Judge Joseph DeMarchis and ordered held in the Westmoreland County Prison after she failed to post $5,000 bail.

Patrolman Derek Manley said he responded to a report about 7:30 p.m. of a juvenile being assaulted in the vicinity of South Fifth Street and Chambers Avenue.

Manley said he found Gogolsky and the juvenile on South Sixth Street and the juvenile “had abrasions on his right knee, dried blood on his face and around his nose.”

The juvenile told Manley that Gogolsky took his cellphone from him, alleging it contained inappropriate content. Manley said the juvenile also alleged Gogolsky “tackled him” and refused to return the phone.

Manley said in court documents that Gogolsky was questioned about the boy’s injuries, “which she could not provide an answer to.”

Relatives of Gogolsky who live in the area told police she was not permitted to be on the property. Manley said he confiscated a metal pipe used for smoking contraband from Gogolsky during the incident.
