As Greensburg Police continue to probe dozens of daylight residential burglaries , two more suspects were arrested Thursday for allegedly selling some of the stolen items.

James E. Dickant Jr. was arrested Monday at the Rodeway Inn in Hempfield Monday on multiple charges of forgery, possessing instruments of crime, theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with some of the thefts that occurred in January.

Police have since charged Dickant, who is being held in the county prison without bond, with other burglaries involving the theft of currency, jewelry and electronics at various residences in February and March 2. The string of burglaries began in October, police say.

On Thursday, patrolman Garret McNamara arrested Dickant’s girlfriend, Roxanna Pearl Mays, 30, alleging she traded a PlayStation 4 game, allegedly stolen by Dickant on March 2, for 10 stamp bags of heroin.

Mays, who was in the Rodeway Inn room with Dickant when he was arrested, also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police say they found two crack pipes, two hypodermic needles and 30 empty stamp bags of heroin in her possession. She is in the county prison after failing to post $25,000 bond set by District Judge Chris Flanigan.

McNamara reported that Mays was cooperating with investigators. During the interviews, McNamara reported that Mays, who lives with Dickant in an apartment on Fox Hill Street, said “she was aware of Dickant breaking into residences.”

Patrolman William Newmyer also charged Nickolaus Louch III, 40, also of Greensburg, with receiving stolen property and theft by deception. Newmyer alleges in court documents that Louch, who also has lived in Charleroi, sold more than $1,000 worth of jewelry reportedly stolen by Dickant in a Jan. 6 burglary to Precious Metals Resources Inc., which also operates as the Atlantic Gold Exchange in Monroeville.

When Louch was questioned Sunday by Newmyer about the theft, police say he told investigators that he did not commit the break-in, but Dickant traded him stolen jewelry in exchange for heroin.

In June 2018, Dickant and Mays were arrested by city police for allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and stealing $19,279 worth of jewelry. According to court records, workers at an area pawn shop directed investigators to Dickant and Mays, who they said sold them the jewelry.

Court dockets said Dickant pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and theft in October 2018 and he was sentenced by Judge Chris Feliciani to serve 11 1/2 to 23 months. He was paroled from the county prison in March 2019, according to court records.

Mays pleaded guilty to conspiracy in connection with the case in 2019 and was permitted to enter into a probationary program for first-time offenders, records showed.
