A fatal collision was reported at 8 a.m. Monday on Route 993 near North Huntingdon’s border with Manor at the intersection of Broadway Street and Liberty Avenue. The crash involved a dump truck and passenger vehicle, according to North Huntingdon police.

An Irwin man was killed Monday morning on Route 993 in Manor when a passing dump truck hauling a trailer rolled over onto his car, the Westmoreland County Coroner said.

Vincent B. Neal, 86, was driving a Hyundai Kona northwest on the road when the collision with the southeast-bound truck on Main Street occurred, according to Coroner Tim Carson. Neal’s wife, who was in the passenger seat, was taken to AHN Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, according to local police.

The crash was reported at 8 a.m. near North Huntingdon’s border with Manor at the intersection of Broadway Street and Liberty Avenue.

Manor and state police were investigating.

Seatbelts were used and the airbags were deployed, the coroner said. Neal died from blunt force trauma.
