Franklin Regional School District will have several new administrators in the 2020-21 school year, including a new assistant superintendent.

The school board hired Robin Pynos on Monday.

Pynos, a Duquesne University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania alum, comes to Franklin Regional from the Greater Latrobe School District, where she served as assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and technology.

“It’s a great district with a great reputation,” Pynos said.

Franklin Regional’s current assistant superintendent, Mary Catherine Reljac, will be superintendent of the Fox Chapel Area School District.

“I’ll be leaving a piece of my heart here, that will be here forever,” Reljac said. “I will always be supportive of everything this district does.”

Pynos’ starting salary was not immediately available.

Other new district administrators include:

• Kristi Burgh, assistant principal at Franklin Regional Middle School. Burgh is a former language arts teacher, librarian and gifted coordinator in the Southmoreland School District.

• Scott Korba, assistant director of finance. Korba is a former school accountant for the Beaver Area School District and has also worked as an assistant business manager for Civic Light Opera in Pittsburgh and a logistics manager for PNC Bank.
