Nes GetGo Cafe + Market convenience store and gas station is scheduled to open on Aug. 16 along South Main Street in downtown Greensburg.

GetGo has set Aug. 16 as the planned opening date for its new Cafe + Market convenience store and gas station that is nearing completion on Greensburg’s South Main Street.

Constructed on a lot formerly occupied by the closed Family Video store, just north of Euclid Avenue, the GetGo store is affiliated with the Giant Eagle supermarket chain and is expected to be staffed by between 25 and 30 workers.

The store faces south, toward six double-sided fuel pumps that are in place under a canopy.

A company spokesman confirmed the store will offer beer and wine sales.

The company has donated $25,000 toward a lighted “Greensburg” gateway sign that city officials want to erect in an open space between the fuel pumps and Euclid.

The city is looking to tap foundation funding to cover the rest of the sign’s cost, expected to total more than $37,000.
