Greensburg Mayor Robb Bell wins reelection bid

Incumbent Robb Bell won the race for Greensburg mayor with 58.52% of the vote with all precincts reporting.

Challenger G. Domenic Spino garnered just over 41% of the vote, according to unofficial returns.

Bell, 67, a Democrat, is completing his second term as mayor, a role that includes voting on city council motions and presiding at its meetings. He campaigned in unison with council incumbents and fellow Democrats Randy Finfrock and Sheila Brumley.

During his reelection campaign, Bell said he wants to continue working on revitalization of the city and expanding recreational improvements. He said Greensburg has had success filling a number of storefronts on Pennsylvania Avenue, but the city still faces the task of redeveloping key buildings on Main Street.

Bell works as a consultant in private industry. He previously served on the city planning commission and the parking authority.

Republican nominee Spino, 53, said he wants the city to move forward in economic development, livability and access to services.

He said the city should have a greater online engagement and should operate with increased transparency. More research is needed to address parking concerns in Greensburg, he said.

He suggested developing a process, perhaps involving town hall meeting, to address concerns at the neighborhood level.

Spino is program director of Dr. Spino Kids, a nonprofit that has a mission of “bringing mindfulness and mentoring to a vulnerable population.” He is a former family therapist and health care administrator and former executive director of the Turtle Creek Watershed Association.
