Police: Hempfield man exposed himself to 10-year-old girls

A Hempfield man was arrested Thursday on charges of exposing himself to two 10-year-old girls in Greensburg in August.
Ronald E. Wineland, 61, was charged with two counts of corruption of minors and single counts of indecent exposure and open lewdness by city police.
Wineland was arraigned before Greensburg District Judge Chris Flanigan and ordered held in the county prison after failing to post $50,000 bail.
Detective Sgt. John Swank reported in court documents that the two girls told relatives that Wineland exposed himself at a residence along Madison Avenue about 3 p.m. Aug. 23.
Swank said in court documents that the girls, who are friends, identified Wineland using his nickname “Monk” and specifically described the blue Dodge Ram truck that he drives. Swank reported in court documents that the victims alleged Wineland asked one girl if she had a boyfriend.
Wineland pleaded guilty in 2000 to an indecent exposure incident in Greensburg and was sentenced to serve 3-to-6 months in prison, according to court dockets.
When interviewed, Swank said that Wineland denied the incident.
Wineland could not be reached for comment and an attorney was not listed in court documents.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 24 before Flanigan.
