An 18-year-old woman was arrested Saturday by Ligonier Valley police, accused of stabbing her father twice in his left shoulder during an argument in their home.

Mollie E. Fichet of Ligonier Township was arraigned Sunday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and simple assault in connection with the 5:44 p.m. incident in the residence on the 600 block of Edwards Lane.

According to court documents filed by police Sgt. James Friscarella, police were dispatched to a report of a “father/daughter domestic altercation” where the father, Christophe, had been stabbed in the shoulder with a knife during an argument that became physical.

Friscarella reported in court documents that Christophe Fichet told police his daughter “became enraged” at her father and mother because they would not drive her to a friend’s home and began arguing.

During the dispute, police allege Mollie Fichet picked up a 9-inch kitchen knife and stabbed her father twice in his left shoulder, requiring medical attention.

Friscarella reported that when he questioned Mollie Fichet about the incident, she admitted the assault.

“She pulled a chrome 9-inch kitchen knife from her side and placed it on the coffee table,” Friscarella said in court documents.

Mollie Fichet was arraigned Sunday before Washington Township District Judge Jason Buczak and ordered held in the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11.
