An unidentified female was reportedly injured Tuesday when she was struck by a train along the CSX railroad tracks along Second Avenue in Sutersville. Multiple fire department, police and CSX Railroad investigators reportedly responded to the scene.

A woman was transported by ambulance to an area hospital after being struck by a CSX train in Sutersville on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 3:20 p.m., according to Sutersville VFD Chief Mark Ghion. A Westmoreland County dispatcher said the incident occurred along the 600 block of Second Avenue.

Ghion said the woman was first transported to a landing zone to be flown for treatment, but emergency officials decided to take her by ambulance to Jefferson Hospital.
