Morning roundup: McKeesport shooting victim identified; crews battle Murrysville fire

McKeesport cemetery shooting victim ID’d

Police have identified the body of a man found shot to death last week in a McKeesport cemetery.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Daniel Anthony Smith, 21, of Duquesne as the man whose body was found Feb. 17 in a cemetery on the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue.

Someone walking in the cemetery saw the body shortly before 11 a.m. and alerted police.

County homicide detectives are investigating.


Crews battle fire in Murrysville

No one was injured in a fire early Tuesday morning in Murrysville, just outside of Delmont, emergency officials said.

Fire crews were called to a home on the unit block of Manorfield Court just before 2:30 a.m. for a report of a house fire.

One person was evaluated by paramedics and released, according to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor.


McKeesport woman found

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed a McKeesport woman was found safe after being reported missing Monday evening.

According TribLive news partner WTAE, Kylee Fair, 22, was located around midnight. Family members and friends told police they became concerned for her safety after receiving calls from spoofed numbers about her status.

Police thanked the public for their help in locating Fair.
