Multiple helicopters dispatched to wreck near Bolivar; at least 1 child flown from scene
At least one child was injured in a vehicle crash Sunday afternoon near Bolivar.
A child initially in the care of Mutual Aid Ambulance Service at the scene of the Fairfield Township wreck was flown by helicopter to an area trauma center, according to a spokesman for the service. Details of the child’s condition weren’t available.
It was one of multiple emergency medical helicopters that were summoned following the crash reported at about 1 p.m. in the 500 block of Graveyard Hill Road, according to a Westmoreland County 911 dispatcher.
The dispatcher was unable to confirm the number or ages of people injured in the crash.
A spokesperson for Indiana County-based Citizens‘ Ambulance Service said privacy regulations prevented it from commenting on its response to the crash.
Bolivar firefighters, who responded to the scene, referred inquiries about the crash to state police. A police spokesman didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking information.
