A Murrysville woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars in expensive jewelry from homes where she worked as a cleaner plans to plead guilty in four cases, according to her attorney.

But first, Holly L. Simpson has started paying off some of the restitution her attorney anticipates she will owe. Simpson, 49, has paid $7,000 in restitution, according to clerk of courts records.

Attorney Kevin Chernosky said a payment, made last week, amounts to 25% of the total restitution.

“The plan is to pay another 25% and enter the plea,” he said Friday.

Then, Simpson will pay off the remainder while she’s on probation, he said.

“The offer is very beneficial to Ms. Simpson,” he said.

Simpson is charged with theft and receiving stolen property in four cases filed by Murrysville police. She was first charged in May 2023 after police investigated reports that she had taken chains, rings and bracelets from a client on Trillium Drive in Murrysville.

Police said she sold 18 pieces of jewelry at two Monroeville pawn shops, according to court papers.

Additional charges were filed in July after another client of Simpson’s cleaning business, Simpson Cleaning Services, read a Trib article about the initial arrest and reported several pieces of jewelry valued at $5,000 were missing from their home.

Two more clients of Simpson’s reported she stole a gold bracelet, a gold pinky ring and a diamond engagement ring, according to court papers. Police said they found evidence Simpson had sold the pieces of jewelry and they were able to track down several of the items reported missing by all four clients. Simpson told police her husband has a drug problem and she provided documentation that she mailed some of the items back to the Trillium Drive client.
