Westmoreland County Assistant District Attorney Judi Petrush has announced her candidacy for magisterial judge in District Court 10-3-02.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and its law school, Petrush, 54, focuses on sexual assault and abuse cases as the unit’s lead prosecutor. She is a member of both national and state district attorneys’ associations, the Westmoreland Academy of Trial Lawyers and a past president for the Westmoreland Bar Association.

“I’ve dedicated almost three decades to serving Westmoreland County — particularly its most vulnerable citizens, our children,” she said. “I have been honored to work with our dedicated police officers and to seek justice on behalf of victims.”

A registered Republican, Petrush said she plans to cross-file for both primaries in the spring. She and her husband, John, live in Murrysville.
