North Huntingdon woman charged with providing alcohol, corruption of minors

While investigating a fatal dirt bike crash in North Huntingdon, police said they learned that a township woman had regularly been hosting drinking parties for teenagers in the community, according to court papers.

On Friday, they arrested Kimberly Strashensky, 53, on charges of child endangerment, corruption of minors and providing alcohol to minors. She was not charged in connection with the deaths of Adam Bilinsky, 19, and Colin Bargiel, 16, both of North Huntingdon.

The pair were killed March 31 when the bike they were riding went off Ridge Road and over an embankment. Authorities said in court papers that Bargiel had left Strashensky’s home on Robbins Station Road to pick up Bilinsky. They planned to return to Strashensky’s home to drink, police said.

Bargiel’s blood-alcohol content was 0.028%, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson.

Township officers interviewed several teens who reported drinking at Strashensky’s home on numerous occasions between January and the date of the crash, according to court papers. They described it as a known party house and told authorities Strashensky bought them alcohol on at least one occasion, police said.

Police said they also interviewed Strashenky’s son as part of the investigation.

Videos recovered from Bargiel’s cellphone showed Strashensky interacting with visibly intoxicated teenagers, according to court papers.

“In some of the videos, Strashensky can be heard telling the juveniles not to puke inside of her bathroom,” Detective Mark Hamilton wrote in court papers.

She is free on her own recognizance. Her attorney declined to comment. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 4.

Bargiel was a sophomore at Norwin. Bilinsky was a former student. Both died from blunt force injuries.
