Ohio man found with pot brownies, gun on turnpike, police say

An Ohio man was arrested Thursday evening after police say they found him with pot brownies, drug paraphernalia and an unlicensed gun.
Nashon William Latimer, of Parma Heights, Ohio, was pulled over around 6 p.m. after a toll collector alerted police Latimer allegedly left the Pennsylvania Turnpike without paying and tried to reenter, according to an affidavit from Trooper Marnie Johns.
Latimer paid the toll collector what was owed for exiting the turnpike at the Donegal Interchange after he was pulled over, Johns said.
While talking with Latimer, officials detected a marijuana smell coming from the car. Latimer and a female passenger told police friends had smoked in the vehicle earlier that day, Johns said.
Both people were asked to exit the vehicle, and Latimer informed officers he had a firearm. A search of the car lead police to find 14 individually packaged marijuana brownies, 20 boxes of individually packaged THC oil meant for individual sale, a Glock pistol and ammunition, 1 gram of THC wax, smoking devices and a scale.
According to police, Latimer said he was traveling to Washington, D.C., where marijuana is legal, but did not have a medical marijuana card.
Latimer is charged with manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver, using or possessing drug paraphernalia and firearms not the be carried without a license.
Latimer’s $10,000 bail was posted and he is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
