A bite to eat, a cool drink, live music, games and good friends make for a perfect summer evening.
All those ingredients went into the mix for the July 9 “Summer Saturday: Together Together” event on the terrace of The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.
The Benvenuti’s Pizza Factory food truck from Pittsburgh served up the food. The museum offered beer, wine and a specialty cocktail for the 21-and-older crowd.
Those with a sweet tooth could buy a $1 s’mores kit from the museum’s Cafe Marchand to toast over a fire pit.
Andy Davis, a Josie Award-winning country singer from Mt. Pleasant, had the music covered, with original songs and familiar covers.
The parking lot became a playground for cornhole, ladder toss, badminton and even a dunk tank.

A scavenger hunt, a popular activity at The Westmoreland’s Art After Hours events, had guests searching to identify photo snippets of items from inside the galleries and around the grounds. The first 10 people to complete the quest were awarded a museum-branded wine tumbler with a surprise gift inside.
Artist Kim Sauers of Level Green applied her drawing talents to caricatures of good-natured guests.
Museum staffers Darrah Resnick, Doug Evans and Erica Nuckles — who took a turn on the dunk tank seat — welcomed attendees.
