Lt. Gov. Austin Davis speaks during a stop on Protect Our Care’s “Lower Costs, Better Care” bus tour in Greensburg on Friday. The purpose of the tour is to talk about ways the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats in Congress are working to lower health care costs.

Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Austin Davis touted health care policies pursued by the Biden-Harris administration and Democratic members of Congress during a Friday stop in Greensburg

Davis met with local officials and patients at the Westmoreland County Labor Council headquarters at One Northgate Square as patients Diana Steck and Lisa Gephart and cancer survivor Laura Packard shared their health care experiences.

Westmoreland County Commissioner Ted Kopas, the minority Democrat on the county board, also was among speakers at the event.

Davis’ appearance marked the fifth day of the “Lower Costs, Better Care” bus tour. Organized by social welfare nonprofit Protect Our Care, the tour began Monday and is slated to visit more than 17 states over six weeks.

Participants discussed passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, indicating it provided relief to those who purchase insurance on their own, capped the monthly cost of insulin and gave Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices. They also expressed concern about potential threats to health care they attribute to Republican opponents.
