Motorists can expect to encounter detours beginning Monday, Aug. 8, for PennDOT projects in Youngwood and Unity Township.
In Youngwood, Depot Street will be closed for road excavation and paving between Third and Fourth streets — the respective northbound and southbound lanes of Route 119.
A northbound detour will be in place, tentatively through Thursday, Aug. 11, using Washington Avenue. The southbound detour will follow Hillis Street.
The Route 119 corridor in Youngwood is undergoing reconstruction in both directions, with improvements to sidewalks and some adjoining streets.
Golden Triangle Construction is the general contractor for the overall $24.1 million project, with work continuing into next year.
In Unity, Marguerite Road will be closed between Coke Oven Hill and Bernie Stone Road through Sept. 9 while crews replace a cross pipe with a new precast concrete pipe.
A marked detour will direct drivers along Route 130 and Beatty Road.
Work schedules can be affected by weather conditions.
