Portions of Route 259 in Ligonier Township and Lenity School Road in Rostraver are scheduled to close Monday morning for PennDOT road and bridge projects.

Route 259 is set to close beginning at 7 a.m. between Austraw Road and McCurdy Trail while PennDOT crews replace a cross pipe over a tributary to Coal Pit Run. The work is expected to continue through late May, depending on weather conditions.

Northbound traffic will be detoured along Routes 30 and 711 and Wilpen and Marietta roads. Southbound motorists will be directed along Knupp Road and Routes 711 and 30.

Lenity School Road is slated to close at 9 a.m.between Patton and Iron City Hill roads, with a detour in place using Lenity School and Turkey Hollow roads, Route 906 and Tyrol Boulevard.

The closure is expected to continue through late June while PennDOT demolishes a bridge over Speers Run and replaces it with a precast concrete pipe and inlet.

The $325,000 project in Rostraver also includes roadway widening and drainage improvement.
