State police released the identity of a man who died of injuries following an Oct. 8 crash on State Street in Mt. Pleasant Township.

Police said Gregory P. Petro, 59, of Mt. Pleasant was driving south on State Street near Wimbledon Drive shortly after 11:30 a.m. when his car struck a guard rail and a concrete bridge culvert, before hitting a second vehicle and spinning around.

Petro, who police said was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected out the driver’s side window.

He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital where he later died, according to police.

The female driver of the other car suffered minor injuries, and an 8-year-old child in the back seat was not injured, police said.
