It was a little damp on the paws Saturday morning, but that didn’t stop plenty of dog owners and downtown shoppers from dropping by Greensburg’s Summer in the City celebration at the Pitt-Penn parking lot on South Pennsylvania Avenue.
From a doggie photo booth to a dunk tank, the lot was filled with local businesses, children’s activities, food vendors and dogs. Greensburg Petagogy owners Ben Huber and Elise Lampl organized a dog parade from their East Pittsburgh Street store to the Pitt-Penn parking lot, and the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department’s bloodhounds got a chance to show their search-and-rescue skills in a demonstration.
A second, ticketed event, “Cool Sips in the City,” took place Saturday evening with a cornhole competition and live music.
The annual celebration is organized by the Greensburg Business & Professional Association, Think Greensburg and the Greensburg Community Development Corp.
