Unity Giant Eagle worker tests positive for coronavirus
A Giant Eagle store in Unity was sanitized and reopened after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus, the grocery chain announced.
The employee was last in the Mountain Laurel Plaza store along Route 30 on Thursday. The case was confirmed Monday, according to information posted on the company’s website.
Employees at several other Giant Eagle stores around the region and in Ohio have tested positive.
The company has given employees $10 million in bonus pay during the past month and a half. Several measures to increase customer and employee safety have been added at stores in the same timeframe. Those include additional employees dedicated to cleaning and the installation of glass dividers at checkout lanes.
