Greensburg will buy 26 new golf carts for Mt. Odin Golf Course from a New York-based vendor.

City council on Monday unanimously approved the $166,400 bid from Nutall Golf Courses. The new golf carts will replace some from the 1990s at Mt. Odin off Tollgate Hill Road.

Two bids were received, and though the one from Nutall was the higher of the two, the second bid didn’t meet the specifications sought by city officials.

The second bid was from Textron of Rhode Island for $153,868. The bid specifications outlined the make and model of golf cart being sought — 2025 Yamaha Drive2 Fleet AFI with extra traction rear tires, among other requirements.

Solicitor Zachary Kansler said the Textron bid did not come with the specified tires on a Yamaha, but rather an alternative make of golf cart.

“The bid from Textron was for a different brand with no explanation as to how it’s similar,” he said.

Council members also approved financing the purchase by borrowing $170,000 from 1st Summit Bank at 3.1% interest. Five proposals, including 1st Summit’s, were received by the city.

Mt. Odin generated $671,150 in revenue in 2024 and had $578,758 in expenses, officials said. The 18-hole course is owned and operated by the City of Greensburg.
