Somerset County man accused in theft of $32K in food from Hempfield firm

The owner of a Somerset County food distribution firm was accused this week of writing fraudulent checks to a Westmoreland County supply company to obtain more than $32,400 in food last spring.
Brandon S. Kishlock, 38, of Jenner Township, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of theft by deception and writing bad checks filed by state police in Greensburg.
Trooper Trey Parsley alleges Kishlock, who owns LBK Wholesale & Distribution, also in Jenner, ordered and picked up six shipments of perishable goods from US Foods in Hempfield between May 20 and June 8.
Company officials told police a check Kishlock used to pay for the orders repeatedly bounced.
“Kishlock was unable to be reached by company officials and no payments were made,” Parsley wrote in court documents filed before Hempfield District Judge Mark Mansour.
In a recent interview, Parsley said Kishlock admitted to police that he did not pay the bill and would take responsibility.
According to court dockets, Kishlock has three pending bad check charges, two in Blair County and one in Greene County, dating back to April.
Kishlock was released on $50,000 unsecured bond by Mansour pending a preliminary hearing Oct. 30.
A message left for Kishlock was not returned. He did not have an attorney listed in court documents.
